 Murom is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Russia, located on the picturesque bank of the Oka River, 137 km from the city of Vladimir.

• Interesting Facts: In 1992, the Belgian astronomer Eric Elst discovered an asteroid (10347), which he named after the city of Murom.
• In 1999, a monument to the epic hero Ilya Muromets was erected in Murom. 
• Murom's second name is "City of Artists". 
• In Murom, the inventor of television Vladimir Zvorykin was born and grew up. 
• The relics of St. Peter and Fevronia, the patron saints of marriage and family, are stored in the Troitsky Monastery of Murom.
