Sabetta shift camp can be seen on the image received on May 23, 2018 from the GeoEye-1 satellite.

The name was given to the settlement by the name of the local Samoyed clan Sabe, who lived here and engaged in reindeer herding. In 2011, the construction of the infrastructure of the shift camp of Sabetta, designed for 3,500 residents, began. The number of workplaces is increasing every year: now the number of employees exceeds 30 thousand.

Shiftmen work at the Yamal LNG plants. Yamal LNG is an integrated project for the extraction, liquefaction and supply of natural gas. Within the framework of its implementation, a transport infrastructure has been created, including an international airport. The seaport of Sabetta is located 5 km northeast of the camp.

On the territory of the camp there is a dining room, sports centers and a church. Alcohol is strictly prohibited in Sabetta. The violation of the dry law threatens with large fines and deportation.
