Central part of the Shuryshkarsky District of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area as well as the Ob River, Gorki settlement and western cluster of the "Kunovatsky" nature reserve can be seen on the image received on July 5, 2017 from Pleiades-1B satellite.

The Shuryshkarsky District is located in the west of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area. The area of the district is 53 970 sq. km, the population is about 9,500 people. Part of the population are nomads living outside populated areas. The main types of transport in the area are waterways (along the Ob) in the warm season and aviation. There is no motorway all year round.
