The territory of the Kolsky District of the Murmansk Region can be seen on the image received from SPOT 6 satellite on July 3, 2017. Teriberka settlement can be seen in the center of the image. It is located on the Murmansk coast of the Kola Peninsula at the mouth of the river of the same name, which flows into the Teriberka Bay of the Barents Sea.

Teriberka is an ancient Pomorie settlement, known since 1523. It reached its heyday in the post-war years: a port operated here, a deer herd of 2000 heads grazed on the nearby hills, cod and salmon were mined, and the population reached 4,500 people. Then gradually the decline began: in the late 1960s, Teriberka lost its status as a district center, and the port ceased to meet the tonnage of modern vessels. Then deer were taken to Lovozero. In the 1980s, the construction of HPP led to a decline in fisheries. By 1989, there were about 2.5 thousand residents. In 1997, Teriberka lost the status of the city and became a village.
